Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (CHIPP) Program
Upsilon Lambda Omega Chapter provides Power Packs, which are filled with non-perishable food items for elementary aged children, every Friday to students attending Central Elementary School in Duncanville, Texas and Cockrell Hill Elementary School in DeSoto, Texas. This effort is in conjunction with Alpha Kappa Alpha's Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack Program. To-date, Upsilon Lambda Omega Chapter has distributed nearly 1,500 CHIPP Bags.
Youth Leadership Institute (YLI)

Ladies Who Launch
In alignment with the Build our Economic Wealth Initiative, annually, Upsilon Lambda Omega Chapter hosts, Ladies Who Launch, an event geared toward educating and equipping women with information that will allow them to take control of their finances and build their economic legacy. This event traditionally occurs in the fall and makes leaves a lasting impact on all attendees.
Lancaster Adopt-a-Spot
Upsilon Lambda Omega Chapter has participated in the adopt-a-spot program in the city of Lancaster, Texas for nearly two decades. Through the adopt-a-spot program, members of the chapter enhance the environment by cleaning debris and trash on Telephone Road in the city of Lancaster.
Advocate for Social Justice
Alpha Kappa Alpha has always been at the forefront of social justice to promote fairness and equity, but Upsilon Lambda Omega Chapter implements programs in support of social justice and empowering members of our community. The chapter hosts candidate forums, voter registration drives and educates the public on local, state and federal elections.
Uplift Our Local Community
Each month, members of Upsilon Lambda Omega Chapter engage with our community to uplift and support those in need. Members provide donations and volunteer with various organizations to make an impact and promote change in our local community.
MLK Day of Service
Annually, Upsilon Lambda Omega Chapter hosts an MLK Day of Service, where we come together with inactive Alpha Kappa Alpha members, our family, friends and members of the community to execute service projects benefiting the communities we serve. Over the years, projects on MLK Day of Service have included assembling hygiene kits for victims of human trafficking, creating boxes with feminine hygiene products and undergarments, cleaning our adopt-a-spot, and assembling CHIPP packs.
