Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (CHIPP) Program
Upsilon Lambda Omega Chapter provides Power Packs, which are filled with non-perishable food items for elementary aged children, every Friday to students attending Central Elementary School in Duncanville, Texas. This effort is in conjunction with Alpha Kappa Alpha’s Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack Program.
2022 Ladies Who Launch
Annually, Upsilon Lambda Omega Chapter hosts, Ladies Who Launch, an event geared toward educating and equipping women with information that will allow them to take control of their finances and build their economic legacy. In 2022, the chapter hosted, “Welcome to the Green Table: Learning Today, Soaring Tomorrow,” where over 100 women learned how they can soar to success with their own businesses.
2023 AKA Day of Service
Members of Upsilon Lambda Omega Chapter assembled over 100 female personal hygiene packages for victims of human trafficking. The hygiene packages were donated to It’s Going To Be Ok, Incorporated, along with a $250.00 monetary donation.
Youth Leadership Institute (YLI)
Members of Upsilon Lambda Omega Chapter are currently developing and mentoring 20 middle school aged teens through our Youth Leadership Insitute. AKA YLI is a youth-led and highly interactive leadership development program designed to empower and engage youth, ages 11-13.
